What it Means to be a Sexy Copywriter


Did I catch your attention? Great – that was the point! And since you’re here, I’ll go ahead and share some useful information!

Copywriting can be confusing, so I thought I’d compare it to something we all understand. When someone is sexy, we are attracted to them. We want to know what they’re doing and we tend to listen to what they have to say. Essentially, we stop and take notice.

The same is true with words – a great copywriter can make things “sexy”. Aka, they can make you stop and pay attention. All those tag-lines you see, emails that hit your inbox, websites you visit, etc. have words designed to catch your attention!

The emails with straight data or lengthy word walls don’t make you want to read more. Great tag-lines on the other hand lead you to the first paragraph. And that first paragraph (if done right!) should lead you straight to the second paragraph! If you find that you keep reading or maybe sign up for a newsletter and linger a little longer on a website… well, that’s some “sexy” copy!
